Eyeglasses, Hearing Aids and Other Recyclables

Eyeglasses
We accept used prescription eyeglasses of all types, to be cleaned, calibrated, and redistributed to those in need (we can’t recycle sunglasses or glasses cases).  If you have donations too bulky to put in the collection box, contact us and we will come collect them!  Click here to find out why we recycle.

Vision & Hearing Screening Buses

Perhaps you have seen our Diabetic Retinopathy Screening Bus (vision) and our Hearing Screening Bus parked outside local events. Funded through our support of The Lions of Illinois Foundation, they provide crucial screening to members of our community, allowing them to be aware of potential health problems connected to their vision or hearing. Check our calendar of events to see where they will be next.

Ronald McDonald House

Located near the Medical District, The Ronald McDonald house offers much a needed sanctuary for out of town patients and their families, in town for medical needs. Springfield Noon Lions Club is proud to help this wonderful institution by supplying and cooking dinner for the residents frequently through the year.

Mary Bryant Home for the Blind & Visually Impaired

One of the most important and deserving institutions that we support locally is The Mary Bryant Home for the Blind and Visually Impaired located right here in Springfield. A 42 bed, 21 apartment facility, it is home sweet home to many wonderful and deserving residents from this area and from around the country.

Camp Lions

A wonderful program once again organized and funded through our very own Lions of Illinois Foundation. At four different locations throughout the state, visually and hearing impaired children can spend a week with their peers, having fun, without the stigma of being “different” weighing them down. Totally funded by Lions, there is no cost to the campers or their families.
