October 20 meeting
The meeting was held at the Golden Corral with 22 members and no guest present. This meeting was designated as a business meeting with no speaker scheduled. President Limey Nargelenas went over the budgets for the club in 2016. President Nargelenas thanked John Albers for chairing the Peace Poster Program and the winners were announced last week at our meeting. Marne Fauser advised the club that she has applied for a grant from Wal-Mart for our club. The club was presented with the opportunity to run the gates at the Sangamon County Fair for 2016. The club voted to do this again in 2016. Tail Twister Larry Werline fined Steve Frankenstein, Marne Fauser, Nick Appelbaum, Ron Wenger, and Dr. Paul Anthony. The 50/50 was won by Dan Yuhas.
October 28 meeting
The meeting was held at the Golden Corral with 23 members and no guest present. President Limey Nargelenas welcomed back Lions Dave Rolf, Gail Day, and Larry Schillinger. Marne advised the club that our fundraising dinner at Texas Roadhouse is on November 24th from 4:00-10:00 PM. Our club will receive 10% of the money spent that night from family and friends who mention they are there for the Springfield Noon Lions Club. Dale Diamond encouraged everyone to get their calendars sold and money turned into him by January 1, 2016. Golf Outing Chairman Dan Yuhas reported on the committee meeting held on October 25th at his house. We received a letter thanking us for the donation to Lions Club International for the Melvin Jones Award. The next board meeting will be Thursday November 19th at Hunan Restaurant. Jerry Curry announced that the Mary Bryant Home is having a Robert Maxey Memorial Park built in their garden area. Ron Wenger served as Tail Twister and fined Steve Frankenstein, Dale Diamond, Dave Rolf, Gail Day, and Bill Maxey. Our speaker for the day was called out of town on an emergency so we finished our business meeting from last week. The 50/50 winner was Steve Frankenstein.
