September 1 Meeting
The meeting was held at the Golden Corral with 25 members and one guest present.  The guest was Matt Franklin from Security Bank.  President Limey Nargelenas presented Dean Paisley a key award for bringing in two new members to the club.  Sign-up sheets for workers for the Star Party, Candy Day Sales, and Annual Steak Fry are now circulating if anyone can help.  President Nargelenas gave the club highlights of the new 2015-2016 budget.  The September calendar raffle drawing was done with Maria Olson the big $100 winner. Tail Twister Larry Werline fined Josh Langfelder, Jerry Gardner, Mitch Murdock, Jerry Curry, Bob Urbance, and Dan Yuhas.  Lion of the Day was Marne Fauser who introduced our speaker Misty Buscher.  Misty is the Springfield City Treasurer.  Misty talked about what her job entails and what she wants to get accomplished. The 50/50 was won by Craig Drone.
 
September 8 Meeting
The meeting was held at the Golden Corral with 17 members and 1 guest present.  The guest was Richard Hamilton of Saving Sight.  President Nargelenas has asked the club to keep Bob Maxey in our prayers after his stroke last Friday.  President Nargelenas informed the club the District Convention will be held October 23 & 24 at the Decatur Conference Center.  Dan Yuhas has sent out an invitation for anyone who has ideas or wants to be on the golf committee to be at his home at 6:00 PM on September 20th.  Tail Twister Larry Werline fined Mitch Murdock, Craig Drone, and Bill Maxey.  The Lion of the Day was Limey Nargelenas who introduced our speaker Paul Palozollo.  Paul is the Sangamon County Circuit Clerk and talked to us about his plans and upgrades for his office.  The 50/50 was won by Mike Fishel.
 
September 15 Meeting
The meeting was held at the Golden Corral with 25 members and no guest present.  President Limey Nargelenas advised the club that there will not be a meeting on Nov. 10 or Nov. 24 due to scheduled night activities.  There also will not be a noon meeting on October 6 due to the Steak Fry.  Dale Diamond attended today’s meeting and handed out calendars for people to sell.  He hopes everyone can sell 10 or more calendars, but it is not required.  Allied Plumbing will be presenting our club with a check next week.  Allied Plumbing picks a charity each month to give a gift to as a community service. Tail Twister Larry Werline said he was not going to fine anyone because he was not given enough time but still fined Ed Cunningham and Dean Paisley.  Jerry Curry presented the club with a check for the 2014 and 2015 Star Party.  Lion of the Day was Marne Fauser who presented our speaker Jackie Peeler.  Jackie is the Director of the Henson Robinson Zoo.  Jackie talked to us about her employment background and what is currently planned for the zoo.  The 50/50 was won by Dr. Paul Anthony.
 
September 22 Meeting
The meeting was held at the Golden Corral with 20 members and 3 guests present.  The guests were Mark, Jean, and Susan Miller.  The Millers are owners of Allied Plumbing and they presented the club with a check for $812 as recipient of the monthly non-profit chosen by Allied Plumbing.  President Nargelenas asked that the club observe a moment of silence for our recently passed Lion Bob Maxey.  We received two thank you notes for the students we sponsored for the Cebrin Goodman Teen Institute.  Substitute Tail Twister Mark Cullen fined Jerry Gardner, Mickey Monroe, James Grohne, Limey Nargelenas, and himself.  Lion of the Day was Mitch Murdock who introduced our speaker Brian Frieze.  Brian is owner of Sangamon Reclaimed which makes handcrafted custom furnishings from reclaimed materials which includes old barns.  The 50/50 was won by Helen Hellner.
 
September 29 Meeting
The meeting was held at the Golden Corral with 17 members and one guest present.  The guest was Evelyn Thomas’s friend Linda Lybarger.  Welcome back Evelyn Thomas.  President Limey Nargelenas informed the club that we are having a business meeting October 20 and we will also be installing all our new members. The club will also be voting on if we want to work the Sangamon County Fair in 2016.  Steve also announced to the club that the Mary Bryant Home is having their annual Chili/Soup Fundraiser on 10-16-15 and they will also have a silent auction. Substitute Tail Twister Dean Paisley fined James Grohne, Joe Brockamp, Helen Hellner and Bill Maxey. Lion of the Day was Marne Fauser who introduced our speaker Charlyn Fargo Ware. Charlyn is the dietician for Hy-Vee and she spoke to us about healthy eating and what is good for the older generation to eat. The 50/50 was won by “yours truly” Ron Wenger.
