May 5 Meeting
The meeting was held at the Golden Corral with 20 members and one guest present. The guest was Nick Boland who is a potential new member brought by Dr. Paul Anthony. It was reported that all Sight and Sound sold tickets need to be delivered to Limey Nargelenas in order for them to be in the May 21st drawing at the convention. Larry Werline is again asking for volunteers for the Sangamon County Fair for people manning the gates. Please contact Larry is you are unable to get to a meeting to sign up. Tail Twister Mark Cullen fined Dean Paisley, Jim Grohne, Ron Wenger and Larry Werline. Lion of the Day was Limey Nargelenas who introduced our speaker Anne Felix. Anne is from Amsterdam, The Netherlands and spoke to us about her country and how she came to intern for Illinois Project Innocence. Dale Diamond had the drawing for the May calendar raffle winners and Amanda Gass was the $100 winner. The 50/50 was won by Bill Maxey.
 
May 12 Meeting
The meeting was held at the Golden Corral with 22 members and no guests present.  Steve Frankenstein stated that the Athens Lions Club decided not to partner with us for the Sangamon County Fair. We are
working on getting someone else to partner with us on handling the fair gates.  Dan Yuhas states there is still time to get a foursome for the Springfield Noon Lions Ken Parker Golf Outing.  We sang happy birthday to Marne Fauser on her 25th birthday!!!!!!  Tail Twister Jim Grohne fined Jerry Gardner, Mike Fishel, and Dale Diamond.  The Lion of the Day was John Hanlon and he was also the speaker. John, who is the director of Illinois Innocence Project, talked to us about the statistics of convicts that have been proven innocent.  John
also talked about the three things that have helped the innocence project in getting convictions overturned.  The 50/50 winner was Bob Maxey.
 
May 26 Meeting
The meeting was held at the Golden Corral with 25 members and no guest present.  It was announced that the golf outing is still looking for more foursomes with 15 currently playing.  The nominations for officers for 2015 were announced as follows: Director 2 years – Dale Diamond, Rita Werline, and Craig Drone, Director 1 year - Mitch Murdock, Marne Fauser, and Ron Wenger, Treasurer – Joe Brockamp, Secretary – Tom Gallagher, 2nd Vice Pres – Marne Fauser, 1st Vice Pres – Larry Bunting, President Limey Nargelenas, Lion Tamer – Mike Fishel, Tail Twister – Larry Werline.  These nominations will be voted on in two weeks at the meeting.  Tail Twister Mark Cullen fined Ron Wenger, Jerry Gardner, Ed Cunningham, Craig Drone, and Dan Yuhas.  Lion
of the Day was John Hanlon who introduced our speaker Kiran Desai.  Kiran who now works for the Illinois Innocence Project as a volunteer gave us a history of his life and his employment.  The 50/0 was won by Joe Brockamp.
