The meeting was held at the Golden Corral with 19 members and no guest in attendance. Dale Diamond stated that calendar sales are progressing. He also stated the big $100 winner for the October calendar drawing was Nick Appelbaum. Bill Maxey reported that the club collected $1,600 from candy day sales. President Walcher informed the club that the Steak Fry is next Tuesday at the Mozart Club and the regular Tuesday meeting will be cancelled. Bob Maxey informed the club that the Fall Stamp & Coin Show will be held October 19th at the Trinity Lutheran School from 10 to 4. Tail Twister Jim Grohne fined Jerry Gardner, Phil Brooks, Larry Bunting and himself. Lion of the Day Limey Nargelenas received a smattering of applause as he was introduced. Limey thanked Marne Fauser for getting good speakers for September (Marne received a 5 minute standing ovation). Limey introduced our speaker Matt Boerwingle from the Illinois State Police. Matt is the Deputy Director Public Information Officer and spoke to us about his job and what it entails. The 50/50 was won again by Joe Brokamp.
