The meeting was held at the Golden Corral with 19 members and two guests.  The guests were Jerry Curry’s son Tommy Curry and Mitch Murdock’s granddaughter Cindy Marie Murdock.  President Phil Brooks informed the club that the reception/roast for Evelyn Thomas was going to be held August 20, 2013 at the KC Hall on Meadowbrook.  Tail Twister Dean Paisley’s fined Ron Wenger, Gary Rapaport, Larry Bunting, Ed Cunningham, Bill Maxey, Dale Diamond & Doctor Swing.  Lion of the Day was Dale Diamond who introduced our speaker Scott Curtis.  Scott is the Executive Account Manager of Southern Wine & Spirits and also an Indoor Football League referee.  Scott spoke about his time spent refereeing IFL and other football games.
 

 

July 16, 2013

 
The meeting was held at the Golden Corral with 23 members and 1 guest attending. The guest was Larry Bunting and Dale Diamond’s grandson Matt Diamond.  Steve Frankenstein gave a brief report on his trip to the International Lion’s Convention in Germany.  Tail Twister Dean Paisley was at it again and fined Dan Yuhas, Phil Brooks, Ed Cunningham, Craig Drone (in abstentia), Tom Gallagher, Mitch Murdock, Jerry Curry, Larry Bunting, Joe Brockamp & Nick Appelbaum.  Lion of the Day was Dale Diamond who introduced our speaker Marne Fauser.  Marne is the Community Outreach Coordinator for the Illinois Alcoholism and Drug Dependence Association.  Marne spoke to us about the Cebrin Goodman Teen Institute. The 50/50 was won by Dan Yuhas.

The meeting was held at the Golden Corral with 21 members and four guests.  The guests were Tommy and Kathleen Curry (Jerry’s children), Gavin Martin (Limey’s grandson), and Hillary Lucke (potential new member).  President Brooks informed the club that the Evelyn Thomas roast plans are coming along well.  Jerry Curry presented Joe Brockamp his 25 year Chevron and Ed Cunningham his 45 year Chevron.  Congrats to both of you for all your years of service.  Phil Brooks announced that his nephew Lance Brooks has qualified for the World Games in the discus in Moscow.  Tail Twister Dean Paisley fined Craig Drone (2), Jerry Curry, Limey Nargelenas, Tom Gallagher, Ron Wenger, Bob Maxey, Ed Cunningham, and Dale Diamond.  Lion of the Day was Dale Diamond who introduced our speaker Susan Koch. Susan is the Chancellor and VP of UIS.  She spoke to us about the history of UIS and the current challenges.  The 50/50 was won by Dean Paisley.

The meeting was held at the Golden Corral with 22 members and 2 guests attending.  The guests were John Albers' daughters Noel and Michelle.  Tail Twister Dean Paisley fined Dale Diamond and several others as usual.  Lion of the Day was Dale Diamond who introduced our speaker Rod Langel.  Rod is the co-manager of the Montvale Estate Retirement Facility and spoke about the facility and what it offers.  The 50/50 was won by Mitch Murdock.
