The meeting was held at the Golden Corral with 22 members with 12 guests in attendance.  The guests were all relatives of Dr Richard Stratton. It is with heavy heart that I inform the club that our long time Lion Dr. Richard Stratton passed away late last week. Dr. Stratton was a great Lion who epitomized the ideals that the club strives to achieve. The Club presented Dr. Stratton’s son (Jim) with Dr. Stratton’s 50 year Lion member commemorative mantel clock. I would like to thank Dr. Stratton’s family for donating the memorial money collected at his funeral service to the Springfield Noon Lions. I hope we can keep Mitch Murdock and his family in our thoughts and prayers as his mother was placed in hospice last week. Dr. Paul Anthony gave a very nice eulogy of Dr. Stratton at our meeting in lieu of our Tail Twister. Mike Fishel was Lion of the Day and he introduced our speaker. Our speaker was Sheriff Neal Williamson. Sheriff Williamson spoke about the recent fake law enforcement pullovers and the reinstatement of D.I.R.T.. Mike Fishel won the 50/50 drawing.
