                                      January 8, 2013

 

The meeting was held at the Golden Corral with 25 members with no guests in attendance. We all are wishing Dr. Stratton, who has been under the weather recently, a speedy recovery. Phil Brooks reported that the January 5, 2013 An Evening with Elvis event held at the Hoogland Center and benefitting the Mary Bryant Home was a success. Steve Frankenstein reported that the 1st Annual Pancake & Sausage Breakfast attracted around 150 patrons and made a profit that will go to the Guide Dogs for the Blind in San Rafael. Dale Diamond reported that we have sold almost 800 Springfield Noon Lions Fundraising Calendars and will make a nice profit from the raffle. Tail Twister Curt Fischer fined Steve Frankenstein (AGAIN), Chris Walcher & Dale Diamond. There wasn’t any scheduled speaker for the meeting and we used the time to draw the winners of the first Lions Calendar Raffle. The 50/50 was won by Bob Maxey.

 

 

                                     January 15, 2013

The meeting was held at the Golden Corral with 25 members and no guest in attendance. President Steve Frankenstein reviewed the Pancake Breakfast and Lions Calendar Day sales. Steve also stated that Ron Wenger will be running the Super Bowl Pool this year.

Tail Twister Curt Fischer fined Ken Parker, Steve Frankenstein, Dale Diamond and Ron Wenger. The Lion of the Day was Paul Anthony who was unavailable and Steve Frankenstein stepped in and introduced the speaker Randy Light. Randy Light is owner Lights Prosthetic Eyes. He discussed his company and what they do with prosthetic eyes. He discussed several cases he has worked on recently. The 50/50 winner was Mike Fishel.

 

                                     January 22, 2013

 

The meeting was held at the Golden Corral with 19 members with 1 guest in attendance. The guest was Craig Drone who was introduced bySteve Frankenstein. Dale Diamond reported that the calendar sales are now up to807 out of the 1,000 originally for sale. He encouraged everyone to sell themthrough January and get him the names and money. The names were drawn for theJanuary winners and Bonnie Brokamp was the big winner this month.Ron Wenger isselling spaces for $3 each on the Super Bowl Pool if you want to get in on it.The Tail Twister Curt Fischer was very aggressive in his fines and fined DaleDiamond, Steve Frankenstein, Dave Rolf, Phil Brooks, Bob Maxey and yours trulyRon Wenger. Lion of the Day was Dr. Paul Anthony who introduced our speakerGeorgia Winson. Georgia is the Executive Director of the Catholic run HospitalSisters Mission Outreach program. The 50/50 was won by Bob Maxey.

 

                                     January 29,2013

The meeting was held at the Golden Corral with 25 membersand 1 guest in attendance. Our guest was Tom Grainy who was a guest of ourspeaker. President Frankenstein welcomed back Doug Skinner. Dale Diamondreported that the club has sold 821 calendars to date with a few more to becollected. GOOD WORK EVERYONE !!!

President Frankenstein reported that the First AnnualPancake Breakfast was a success and made the club over $1,400.00. Ron Wengerreported that the Super Bowl Pool is now full. Good Luck to everyone who isparticipating. Tail Twister Curt Fischer fined Dr. Paul Anthony, Phil Brooks andChris Walcher. Lion of the Day was Dr. Paul Anthony who introduced our speaker.Speaker of the Day was Dr. Donald Graham from the Springfield Clinic InfectiousDiseases Specialist. Dr. Graham spoke to us about the history of flu and aboutthe current flu problems and treatment. The 50/50 was won by Dr. Swing a/k/aBill Hickerson.
